Just wanted to say to everyone that I had a really great time and met a lot of very nice people. First LAN impressions did not disappoint and I will be there next year!

I won't be able to go to i49, I have to go to some stupid wedding that my friends are having and they refuse to change venue to Telford.

Is it possible to have some clanbox events? (inhouses, tournaments etc... )

The issue with clanbox events is that LAN is very fluid and people go and do their own thing. We can think about organising things, but likely people will miss it as nobody really knows what time it is at LAN

I'm sure it would be possible for somebody to organise a small event or two, like "saturday at 2pm lets do a 9v9 TF2 match" or similar. We'll have to see if we can come up with the best method of communicating things like that, as it was certainly harder in the 60 seat box to keep track of who was doing what when than when there were just 20 of us at i43. There were some shouts for L4D games going on, but other than that we were a bit lacking on the whole playing games together thing at i46 (which i guess is the original point of a LAN!).

I don't think a more complicated tournament would be easy though, as you would have to schedule it around all the official tournaments/events going on that people might want to enter or watch, and as stated above, people generally seem to prefer not being too tied down.

GTFO used to to just write on a whiteboard(like they use in classrooms on 3 legs) at our LANs and just put your name down if you wanna play anything, we'd shout across the hall once you had enough people to play. It also led to some rather interesting names being put on there when people had drunk quite a bit
