HL2: Aftermath

Given our kin-ship with HalfLife 2, here is a separate forum to discuss anything related to HalfLife 2 and the various Mods out there (eg, Gary Mod, Zombie mod etc)

HL2: Aftermath

Postby EvolvedMonkey on Tue Jan 10, 2006 5:01 pm

Anyway...its out in the spring (so that means winter)

Some HL2 Guy Spoke So I wrote:Half-Life 2 Aftermath will be released on the 24th of April according to the findings of ModHQ.
The report states that Doug Lombardi himself said:
"We're currently targeting April 24th for the release of both Aftermath and Platinum.
Platinum will include HL2, HL2 DM, CS: Source, DoD: Source, and Aftermath."
No price has yet been given for the Platinum Pack, but it seems like it's all the games you'd need in one bundle.
If you havn't already seen it, check out the HL2 Aftermath Trailer
But I'm feeling good, And if you don't exist, you're still one illusion that I can't resist

I still haven't finished HL2, but I love the game to bits, so I'll definitely be purchasing Aftermath.

HL2 aint too hard to finish.. you just gotta really think about it in places. In other games you think of the logical thing to do and think 'nah that won't work obviously lol - it's a game.' Trick to completing HL2 is to try everything - often the logical answer is the way forward, and much more is possible than other games.

I'll be getting Aftermath, but it'll be one of those damned credit card only things to make life hard.

It's not that I'm having trouble finishing it - I just haven't got round to doing so! I got right to the final chapter before I decided to do a clean install and forgot to backup the save game file! Doh!

If you bought Half Life 2, and hold a current "in good standing" Steam account. Aftermath will be free...

Are you sure about that? I heard it was a full scale 'opposing-force-esque' expansion game.

Just a quick update.

Its Official!
EA and various other sources have confirmed that the release date for Half-Life 2: Aftermath will be April 30th 2006.

Half-Life 2: Aftermath is an all-new episode created by Valve that extends the Half-Life 2 single player adventure.

HL2 was named by over 35 organisations worldwide, Game Of The Year. In the much anticipated add-on for Half-Life 2 you resume the role of Dr. Gordon Freeman to face the repercussions of his actions in the Citadel and City 17. You rejoin forces with Alyx Vance and her famous pet robot, Dog. The pair will then continue the resistance's battle against the Combine forces.

The insane and intense real-time game-play presented in the Half-Life 2: Aftermath is only made possible by Source, Valve's proprietary engine technology which has been enhanced with new AI and new rendering technology to deliver new levels of graphics and character interaction.

# Half-Life 2: Platinum will include Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Aftermath, Counter-Strike: Source, and Day of Defeat: Source.

I think that Valve and VU had a falling out and parted company, now EA have the publishing rights to the shop releases.
