Buying HL2: EP2

Given our kin-ship with HalfLife 2, here is a separate forum to discuss anything related to HalfLife 2 and the various Mods out there (eg, Gary Mod, Zombie mod etc)

Buying HL2: EP2

Postby Dr Caligineus on Fri Sep 21, 2007 3:49 pm

Am I missing something? I got the impression ages ago that you'd be able to buy Episode 2 with Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

But, looking at Steam and Valve's website, it looks like you can't unless you also buy Half Life 2 and Episode 1 as well, in that Orange Box. I'm not buying HL2 and EP1 again just so I can have EP2, TF2 and Portal.

NL2 and ep1 are free, you can give them away to someone at a later datae if you already have them. You can get it on it's own on release for 30 dollars each but there is no package of just ep2/tf2/portal

Okay, I keep having to remind myself that $45 is only £23!

Your not wrong, it was advertised originally as HL2 ep2 with TF @ $19.95 (<£10)
Since that time it has been removed, Orange Box only, guess they think they can get more money this way.

They can get stuffed, cheaky sods.

Its the principle of the matter, why should I buy games I already have, just so these muppets can make more money :?

Episode 2 I can live without, as for TF2, well its a shame but loses my vote on a good buy based on the fact they decided to hike the prices. Loads more games out there that are worth the spend tbqh.
