Given our kin-ship with HalfLife 2, here is a separate forum to discuss anything related to HalfLife 2 and the various Mods out there (eg, Gary Mod, Zombie mod etc)

heh i hate that forum, since the autoban i've been banned for posting 2 pictures XD but it looks cool, oh and HL2 lost coast will have HDR in the whole game, it's just a small game for 40 minutes, but you need a good pc, 3.2 Ghz - 1Gb RAM and 256 mb vid card (not sure about that)

I've heard that The Lost Coast is free to Half-Life 2 owners,

Quote from Steam Update New:-

"In other news, HL2: Lost Coast (the upcoming free Half-Life 2 map for Half-Life 2 owners which showcases HDR rendering technology) is nearing completion and will be released soon"

Does this include people who bought the bronze package or only those who got Silver & Gold. :?

Everyone gets lost coast for free. I doubt they will provide a gfx card capable of actually running the damned thing though...

Is a live demo of HDR fecking amazing.

Guys with a 6600's or 6800's and well Phear, should check it out.

Apparently it doesnt do it with the ATi's well as good or something.

Those HDR demo's used to run on my old Radeon 9800PRO so they will run on ATI cards.

Meaning that HL2's HDR will be far more superior?

Yeah Half life 2 is "made" for ATI's.

But apparently, the current cards out arent as good or dont have good enough lighting stuff? I amnt really sure, I just read this on the half life 2 forums.

Lost Coast and the HDR lighting techniques have a good right up on bit-tech.net. Also for those that can't wait bit-tech.net have made a vid of the game play and some benchmark information.

Article - click here

Now we have just got to sit and wait
