Losttemple

Postby ShoTz on Mon Apr 27, 2009 6:53 pm

There are so many versions of the map. It's constantly on both server 1 and 2, turning into the new office. The map is average at best, is there really a need for so many versions on ukcs?

regards,xx

Are there more then 2 versions of it? 1 on #1 and 1 on #2

Personally i think the map is fairly oki, there are alot worse maps on in my opinion :P

You know what? "Kilowatt-hours per sol" is a pain in the ass to say. I'm gonna invent a new scientific unit name.
One kilowatt-hour per sol is... it can be anything.. um...I suck at this ... oh FK it. I'll call it a "pirate-ninja".
All told, the Big Three need 69.9pn, most of that going to the Oxygenator and Atmospheric regulator."

various losttemple, losttemple pro, losttemple2

Maybe not take the maps off rotation but make it so the maps cant be on both servers at the same time.

I *think* Losttemple is on #1, Losttemple_pro is on #2, and Losttemple2 is really a different map with a totally different layout, also only on #2.

Occasionally it will happen that both variants are on the two servers, but I wouldn't imagine it occurring too often.

Also agree with jihn, there are a lot worse maps on rotation, although it isn't personally a favourite of mine either.

you're too stoned all the time to tell the difference dean :D

and yea, variances of a similar map can get tedious, but I'd argue that lost temple 2 isn't on #1 and it has a very different in layout

not entirely sure why there is lost temple and lost temple pro, many times I've seen them on either server at once.

I don't see why the original losttemple is still on. I was under the impression that the pro version is basically a version 2 of the map. At least it has a few tweaks that IMO makes it much better.

I also thought this was the case. The pro version has some tweaks that make the bombsites a little easier to defend if I remember correctly.
Only problem I can think of is spawn points or if the later version has fps issues.
Can we change to pro and see if people notice?

*edit* just had a look into this at http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/19970

The updated LostTemple, De_LostTemple_Pro, has several major changes that will impact overall game-play of the map:

The main tunnel, leading the terrorists to the temple steps, has been altered to allow the terrorists a slightly better approach to middle.

Several other, not so major changes have also been made:

* Echoes have been fixed and are included in the .bsp
* There is no longer steam rising from B halls, you can now awp without drastic FPS drops
* CTs can now hide behind the tree on the ledge by the swamp
* You can now run behind the propane tent in A without having to jump
* Mini-map bombsite locations now correspond with the actual bombsite
* You can now walk on the raised level in B ('Grassy knoll')
* You can now flash/nade/smoke over 99% of the walls in the map.
* Skybox has been raised in some areas to allow more room to jump and run
* file size compressed by 30%

I remember playing both, and thinking that the pro version was a vast improvement. i also have no love for the smoke in b halls.

any chance we can lose the old version and just stick with pro?

If he doesn't like the map then he won't want the alternative map on the other server to be practically the same, will he?

The map is good but should stay on #2 until the choke issues can be addressed, there are number of "choke" points on the map where i believe everyone receives quite large spikes .. no idea if that can be fixed ? personally, i like the map.
