Consider de_roma_aimstyle though, map is very high paced and fits the server1 atmosphere pretty nicely.

Or maybe de_beroth also fairly good pace, pretty open and balanced.

yep forest was bad.... but the likes of roma, nightfever, bluecorridore, heikka not the 1.2v or which ever one is been played on server one, the one thats fully open, under ground, all played well in via. also that hossie one with the helicoper on the roof, cant remember the name at this moment, but these are all awesome maps, perfect in my view for the number one server :) im wishing :)

de_roma is too small a map for Server #1 it's crazy enough on #2.

de_beroth was on #1 but was unsuitable due to spawn issues however it is available on #2 and we are working on getting it back on #1.

de_nightfever could possibly go on #1 but when number are not so high so when the server is less busy, will post an update about this soon.

From an earlier post id like to see some older maps that used to be played quite often a long time ago make a reappearance. Some of these still do see game time occasionally but more specific to server #2.

Contra - A fan favourite and i havent seen this played in years personally.
Dolls - Was a fantastic map especially when played correctly and was manic on #1. The way it should be.
Westwood_s - Is seen every so often again mainly on #2.
Nightfever_Bridge - Im sure some of the old legends would agree with this.
Xcom - Used to be my favourite map on the server.

Thank you for your feedback iplaya I will get the map team to look into those maps you mentioned and get back to you, however I can tell you that de_doll is classed as a fun map; which is available on Server #4 on Wednesday and Sunday nights from 6pm and is played quite regularly through out the night.

The biggest problem with any map is that no matter how much we like that map, Valve keeps changing the engine, which tends to mess up these older maps in many strange ways.
This can be how the game engine handles textures or indeed many little changes Valve have made to handle different mapping routines.
Over time the maps, despite them being OK originally, developed problems, that impacted on the maps so badly with a large player load, had to be moved to #2. Even then some of the maps became so badly affected by some of these changes, that they had to be removed altogether.

All those maps you have listed I loved to play, but for one reason or another, be that Valve/map issues with large numbers, or players becoming bored with the maps and leaving, have been moved to #2. Even then maps like westwood had to be removed due to map texture problems for many.

I do tend to keep trying those maps, hoping that the Valve engine had been changed in a positive way :) but to no avail, and will usually use those maps on events.

Its always worth trying a map out again, to see if it has improved, or now we have an excellent map testing team and map makers, be able to get those looked at and maybe modified. :)

Quick update.

cs_xcom was tested last night on #2 however requires a minor fix and has been added to the to do list.
de_westwood_s again tested last night on #2 but for the majority of players the map is purple and black squares so textures need to be fixed as it can't go on in it's current state.
Nightfever_Bridge map team will hopefully be testing this map soon.
de_contra will hopefully have some good news for you soon.

hi every one on the UKCS ...
i want to add an comment please ... all we want to play new maps and have fun in them ... for example you are making the jungle map for morning only but the true we want to play it on night also .. we are looking for new maps and huge maps also ... so i appreciate if you add any new maps for a voting list and i will be too thankfully for that service :)

As far as ive been informed, theres a glitch on bluecorridor (which could be anything) since the last update of the engine that causes server1 to crash. Sadly.

Italy should still be on rotation, but LD can better explain how the map selection for voting even works.

Whenever there are problems with any map, we remove those maps for testing on our test server.
Blue corridor had a problem after an update where the map crashed out.

cs_italty_tactik3 is on the server in between the hours of 2AM and 11AM, the players at later times complaining because they want a different version later in the day.

Hey guys, I'm new here but this thread intrigued me.
I've been playing on server #1 for a long time now and realised you haven't got de_dust2 on there at all. It's a classic and can be really fun with all the carnage at double doors!
Since the server gets full so often it would be a good idea to find the extended version of it with the spiders nest on main ramp!

Just an idea!

de_dust2 is still on server#1 in the morning rotation.

Players complained of shiny textures on CT and T. I presume they have hdr turned on, which I don't, so will check that out later.
