Casual Paintballing team

Postby Ragonz on Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:23 pm

I'm looking to put together a paint balling team in the East Anglia area (Around Stevenage) and thought i would post on here to see if anyone would be interested, it would be for Playing for fun at a site (Woodsball) not too far away (possibly Luton) 2 weekends a month with the possibility of changing to sup air practice.

The Team will be primarily for beginners/intermediate players.

Team name will be decided by the players once the team is formed, a website will be created for us and id hope we all have a lot of fun. There are only a few rules

1. Players must have their own equipment
2. Players must have a team friendly attitude
3. Players must be professional at all times and not cause arguments and such
4. Players under 16 may be required to seek parental authorization before going to many events/training/games

I am only just in the beginnings of this team but will quickly work to make it a great team to be in.
Already working on sponsorship deals with 2 sites that will eventually become our "home" and seeking sponsorship with online paintball shops for discounted prices etc.

If you have any interest in this feel free to email me at james355@hotmail.com

Finding it quite difficult to recruit potential members any suggestions would be welcome :)

http://www.ukscenario.com/forum/index.php always used to be the big place for woodsball and woodball style events if youve not already posted up on there i would, there may already even be a few teams in your area worth checking out before trying to start another one up.

http://p8ntballer-forums.com/ is another big UK forum for paintball but edged alot for towards sup air. may be worth a try aswell

i was in a team for a few years, we ended up with a site sponsorship, a paint deal and sponsorship by JT aswell as BZ even then the only new people we got in the team were friends or family of people already in the team really, or people we met in other teams that switched over.

alot of people who don't know much about it still see it as the same thing you may do on a stag weekend, pay £7 for 100 balls aswell as £30 to get into the bit. (aka very expensive)
youv'e got to explain the fact that once you buy your gear, even without a sponsor deal or deal with a site you can attend "walk-ons" at sites all over the country for about £10 and then buy a crate of 2000 paintballs for £20-£30 depending on the site, and if you don't have gear the site will normally lend you some for an extra £10 - £15 much cheaper than the usual price :D

Thanks for the advice Salva, I've actually been in a team already but it didn't suit what i wanted to do and tbh i quite like organizing teams and getting them up to their potential. I already have a post up on P8ntballer but ill check out the other site. perhaps i can get some of my irl mates to come along and give it a go with borrowed gear
