Can someone workout the math? how many Indians will die a year because of the 2" continental loss of land? :D

Just the Indians? Or the Bangladesh people, Nepalese, Tibetan Chinese as well :P

If it were just India then very roughly;
Assuming a population density of 349 km-2 (of course the area near the Himalayas will be less, but I don't have those figures)
Width of India in the North is about 2000 km
2" is about 5.08 × 10-5 km
Therefore in one year, assuming they don't move and are crushed by the orogeny, then about 349 x 2000 x 5.08 × 10-5 = 40 will die :D
