I personally think Sadam and Osama should have faced an international court of law as this way they have just been made martyrs to their respective causes

But sometimes violence is the only answer.

Violence is never the only answer unless on is narrow minded and refuses to seek out alternative or better courses of action.

Violence isn't justice.
Murder isn't justice.
Revenge isn't justice.

If someone beats someone up, they should just get a taste of their own medicine. Same for murders, kill them. Rapers, rape them.

Then what about manslaughter? Stealing to survive? What you're describing is little more than petty vengeance and, thankfully, the modern view of justice is more civilised and adult than that.

You wouldn't do anything. There's a reason we have an impartial justice system.

if someone murdered my parents I would seek out justice to the full extent of the law to protect myself from becoming a mindless and unthinking idiot

If you murdered murderers, the entire population would disappear in a cycle of killing the last person who killed someone. It makes less than no sense unless you still have the mentality of a barbarian.

This have absolutely nothing to do with having the mentality of a babarian. I just dont think anyone who murders or kills someone in cold blood, should ever be allowed to live on this planet.

And yeah sunshine, death is too mild a punishment, true enough.

That society would run out of executioners quite quickly.

In the words of Desmond Tutu- "When you take a life, when a life has been taken, that's revenge. Not justice".

Whilst of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion there is no evidence to show Capital punishment is a valid deterrent for any crime and there are countless cases of incorrect punishment, where people have been in fact murdered by the state.

It is one thing to jail someone for life, that is a suitable punishment for any crime imo. And before you ask "but what if someone you knew/loved was killed, yes been through it twice unfortunately and in one case I knew the person who was found guilty. Yes I was angry, upset but no I did not want to watch them die senselessly. He now sits in jail and will do for at least another 10 years. Is a suitably long punishment for causing a death of an innocent person, probably not, but killing someone else will not make things right either.

I get the feeling that this thread has gone off topic slightly..
Nursing home abuse -> Osama and Sadam -> Killing murderers/An eye for an eye.

Anyway I wouldn't say that Killing a murderer or anything is a good or bad thing. It's a purely situational thing. The one thing I agree on is that its a cycle, revenge begets revenge..

I get what you mean, but i just cant take it, when someone kills another person, gets in jail for like 4 years, and then he/she is free as a bird again. I know the sentences aint like that all over the world, but in Denmark it sure is, and i think its pathetic tbh.
