Partitioning Software

Postby La Chavvy on Tue Mar 29, 2005 5:42 pm

Hey,

I am looking for some easy-to-use partitioning software, hopefully quite famous for my own reasons.

Please note cost is irrelevant.

if you only want to create partitions then you can use builtin windows tools, but if you wanna create/resize/join partitions while keeping the data intactthen yes you need 3rd party software.

PM8 (or 9) is supposed to be good as mentioned. I think Norton software (Ghost?) is another.

Make sure you have backed up everything before resizing/joining, i've heard and seen many horror stories.

If your fresh installing you can use the inbuilt one but tbh partition magic is the best way.

One physical Hard drive can be split into x number of smaller drives, lets say C: and D:, by using a partition.

Useful for keeping data seperate and easier maintenance, defragging and such and keeping Windows in it's own partition helps so much when it comes to re-installing.
