From the stats I've seen,

Nvidia 6 series really kick ATI's ass, but I'm probably looked at some biased sites im not really sure.

Personally I have both, and I prefer the Nvidia, merely cause it's just better overall.

ATI - always stuck to them because once I did have an NVidia card, and it stopped, dead.

X800XT Rocks. :D .

Nvidia personally, but i also am not sure due to being unable to find impartial reviews. If only i could get my hands on both top range cards and test them ;)

I got a 3dragepro in my computer when i bought a voodo2 - but only paid for the r3d - and so i think ati sux ;) Also they were a bitch to get working with q2.

I also like the principle behind nvidias drivers. But its all about fps aint it so im open - bought nvidia and been happy since (despite melting my first one)

Nice to see the professional opinion...

*********************************

Depends what i need it for, but on a general note i prefer nVidia for gaming, Linux/Unix, overclocking and general quality of componants.

Best way to figure it out >
If your an Intel person - buy an ATi card,
if your an AMD person - buy a nVidia card.

Simple as that.

Intel/ATi = Sheer power for the sake of impressive numbers.
AMD/nVidia = Quality & stability all the way.

I chose ATI mostly for my MB and GFX cards, but due to 1 MB going and a faulty G card been delivered from them iv had few Nvidia parts every now and then, but mostly it comes to Cost and effieciency wise wether i get parts from either one.
