Disabling Hyperthreading

Postby Brick on Tue May 10, 2005 9:12 pm

I have a 530j processor 3.0ghz 1mb l2 cache 800fsb, i know there is nearly no programs or games which make use of dual threads and if i play source i can hit 50% usage of the first processor(logical) and nearly no usage of the second, i was wondering if i would see a increase in performance if i disabled hyperthreading?

Leave it as is, if the programme doesnt support it (which most dont) then you wont see any difference.

When it shows that the CPU usage is at 50%, it is actually at 100%. It's just the way Windows XP sees the processor.
