Had a Blackberry and thought it was ok, not amazing.

Currently have an Android which is very good, but my contract isn't up for a good few months yet so will be keeping a keen eye on the Nokia...

Apple - Overpriced and pretty average.

Voted for Android. <3
I love my Galaxy Nexus with Jelly bean (4.1.1). It's fast and stock Android feels so much smoother then the crap Sense and Touchwiz that HTC and Samsung put on there phones.

Also a small mention for Windows phones and the upcoming Nokia Lumia 920 which looks great. Wireless charging and for me the most impotent is that you can use it during the winter with your gloves still on!!

<3 my Android. If only on price alone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it does anything my friend's Iphone 4s can do, but for way less money. By all accounts the S3 (latest model) wipes the floor with the IPhone 4s, check the reviews on t'internet and from what I've seen the Iphone 5 does not sound much better, bar 4G.

So yeh advantages....price! :D

now ya see, my 32gb 4s cost me nothing, and my plan is unlimited txts and minutes for 25 quid a month, admittedly I have a friend who is a senior manager at o2 but the above would still have been free etc for 35 quid a month so cost isnt a factor for me

gotta be honest I find my son's S3 a bit clunky compared to the 4s

I like my Sony Experia P. it's mid range so not got all the features of the best ones but it's cheaper, got the same camera as the others out there and has an aluminium casing :)

Same screen size as an iphone. I always prefer Android.

I used to have a HTC TyTN 2 with Windows Phone 6.5 (custom ROM) which I loved but that also became the reason as to why I do not like the Android interfaces... So I switched to Blackberry and am really happy with it, features like the universal search and an interface I do like makes this the choice for me. :)

Andriod for me, never been an i fan, my daughter was always an apple fanboy she last had the 4s has just got an upgrade to Samsung s3 & now agrees with mum, dad & brother that that she should have andriod before, she says the s3 just kills the i phone dead.

I have only ever owned two smart phones, Iphone 3GS and iPhone 4S so my opinion is a little bias. I don't think I would try other phones for fear of entering a contract with a phone I might possibly not like and I know where I am with an iPhone. Like the look of the Samsung Galaxy and Blackberry for me are unusable due to fat fingers!

By most accounts the iPhone 5 is a pretty lacklustre upgrade to the 4S.

If you have a Samsung S3 at home, and a 4S, than that should give you a good indication of what you prefer after some testing. S3 with Jelly Bean is supposed to be pretty much the top Android experience at the moment.

I had a 3GS and currently have a galaxy S2 running ICS. I must admit that I cant stand the S2. It feels cheap and plastic-y. I am pretty harsh on my phones as I am a bit clumsy and the S2 after a little over a year is looking definitely worse for wear. I find android clunky and it takes me forever to figure out how to do stuff on it (I am not a ludite, far from it as I am a programmer by profession). I will be upgrading to a 5 asap.

On the flip side I have an android tab and love it, but again the build quality lets it down. Little over a year old and the power cord has failed at the very least. Waiting to get a replacement/borrow one so I can rule out anything further. I also have a 2009 macbook pro which runs windows and OSX. Windows for work because I have to and OSX for me because I like it.

I would only ever get droid/iOS, but until samsung up their build quality and battery life I will be sticking with the fruity one from now on.

One of my friends from university has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and he would second what you mentioned about build quality. Within the 3 months he has had it, it has required 2 screen replacements and the case is looking rather rough. into my 3rd year with apple and still only minor blemishes.
