Looking for monitor (So impatient, bought a new monitor lol)

Just woke up to my lovely 23 inch widescreen being utter crap and not working at all. Anyone got recommendations where to get a comparable replacement as everywhere I look the costs don't seem to have dropped for technology that's almost 10 years old

This is my sandvich. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My sandvich is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my sandvich is useless. Without my sandvich, I am useless. I must eat my sandvich true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before lunch I swear this creed: my sandvich and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but sandvich. Om nom.

AOC is a good all-round brand, cheap(ish) but great quality.
I have one (a year old) and its very good :)

Touchsreen
Basic
How many (HDMI, DVI, VGA) ports you want :?:

Impatience got the better of me and I sank £140 on a samsung just because it was in stock in the local store

Well Samsung are one of the top for quality, but also expensive... Least it won't be breaking in the near future. :)

Here's hoping XD

I think the old one has a blown capacitor so it's not completely beyond repair but it's going to take me a few weeks to remember how to be able to fix it lol

edit: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-S24D300 ... b_title_ce this is the one I got, marginally more expensive than on here but same day collection is worth it lol

Snazzy :) I'm currently trying to explain the the other half why an upgrade to a 60" LED TV would be a good thing in the long run!

lol I'm waiting for my last non-HD tv to die before I test the waters for that kind of screen C'n'T. But hey, futureproofing is definitely a thing and should not be written off lightly lol.

Impressed with the distinct lack of any glare with this screen. Odd with the shiny gloss border, I can see my fingertips typing but can barely make out the sun shining on my arm on the screen itself lol

gl with that, although 4K is better.

I have had a Samsung for some time now with no problems at all, the specs for the one you bought are fine, and similar to my monitor, with the exception that at that time the prices were higher, for that spec, although you could get 24" monitors with a lower spec for the same price you paid. Costs are not going to change much on monitors, supply and demand, they make a lot of money on monitors. The difference between that monitor and mine is the HDMI socket, I have DVI, which is not a problem, given the computer is hooked up to a 5.1 sound system anyhow.

I have been using Samsung screens since I switched away from CRT and they all still work perfectly where the NEC and Iiyama screens both broke just after warranty ended... :/
