Postby DeanX on Sat Sep 12, 2015 3:48 pm

ARGHHHHHH, dont really game that much anymore on pc just on odd occasion. now today i thought have a little go and NOPE! Windows 10 decided it wont let me use my GFX card any more ffs so all my games lagging badly.

AMD hd4800 not supported apparently by windows 10!

Thinking about buying a new gfx card but dont really want to be splashing out loads. can anyone suggest a decent card at a reasonable price?

Thanks, Dean

What type of machine do you currently have?
The HD4800 series are pretty outdated these day's and it would be a shame to buy something that then is limited by the other hardware.

Solution, get rid of windows 10.

Seriously they have only released it for free because they can get feedback on the multitude of issues this O.S. has.
They will of course blame the card manufacturers for not making the correct drivers.

Sometimes you can load older drivers when a new MS O.S. is released, which work better than the latest ones.

HD4800 uses the legacy driver, which AMD have no plans to update. And haven't since 2013.

But fuck microsoft amirite LD

Few weeks after posting this, my game wasn't as bad so it makes me wonder if they have changed something but defiantly no new drivers from AMD.

ah well at least i can do the odd bit of gaming until i can be bothered to get a new gfx card

Late to the party, but did you get this sorted?

I have had a host of hardware issues with a new build, but found that AMD drivers with the latest Crimson package were limiting the fan speed to 10% (Or some other low value) meaning when gaming, the graphics cards were not sufficiently cooled and causing issues a hot graphics card would.

They released new drivers I think at the end of December that rectified this. Quick google as I can't find the original link I read.
