Just got my controller, looking forward to the streamer arriving and seeing if it's any good!

You should do a review, giving the good and bad points, then rate it out of 10.

I have never really used a controller other than mouse, joystick and keyboard, so have no idea what they are like.

I have to admit I am curious about it as well.

The thing I really want to know is whether there is any pass through to the PC.

If I could connect my headset to the steamlink and use mumble as well, it would be game over. Valve couldn't take my money quick enough. I get paid on Tuesday and was only going to get a controller, but now I am in two minds.

Let us know how well it plays!

The guys at PCGamer was impressed with the SteamLink device but wasn't too blown away by the controller... it seems its not as good as a dedicated gamepad nor able to compete with the mouse, so it doesn't do either as well as the current devices.
Sort of you can use it as a mouse but its like a bad mouse device, and you can use it like a gamepad but its not as 'comfortable' as a 360 pad, so you really would be better off using the proper device for the job rather than the Steam Controller for both.
Mind you they did say it could just be a issue of getting used to the odd system rather than the system is actually bad, you know what players are like with change.

I have had a play and have to agree with Flare....
Some of my platform games are brilliant but I am so used to a mouse and keyboard I don't think I will be able to use it for TF2 / CS (but you never know - might just need to mod the buttons and play for a while).

I bought this and the streamer with hat money from TF2 as I thought I might as well have real items rather then pixels.....I will ask Charlie to try for a while to also get his views

Thats a good idea boo. I have an unusual that will probably cover the bulk of one/take a chunk out of both.

The one thing I really dislike about 360 controllers is that I have to move to use my PTT key. Well that and the chronic failure to work with blood bowl 2.

Decision made, now to find out how much my hat is worth...

I think the main comparison for this will be how it compares to a 360 controller, expecting a gamepad to replace the keyboard and mouse simply isn't a realistic expectation.

I enjoy the controller with some games and am glad I got it - It's a challenge to get used to ;-) ..... but it will never work out with TF2 :(

Steam Link is nothing special and would not buy it for the money - only got it because I had money in my steam account that they don't let you withdraw^^

It's alright. Hasn't replaced the dual shock I use, but its very handy for games never setup for a controller i.e. Civilization. I think my main gripe is just having used "normal" controllers and the track pad is just very different.

Well, mine arrived today and I like it. I've yet to put it through it's paces properly, but it seems to be doing well so far :)
