Postby Death on Sun Jul 31, 2005 3:14 pm

okay i have my screen refresh rate at 60 hertz

but it can go to 70 hertz and 72 hertz.

but set at 60?

so should i keep it at 60? or should try move it higher? ad what are the advantages of having higher hertz rate?

cheers

refresh rate only limits your max fps if you select "vsync on", having it off will not limit your max fps

At 60Hz there will be a beat frquency of 10Hz with any lights you have in the room. Mains frequency in the UK is 50Hz. I always select the frequency to be same as the mains or twice that if the monitor allows.

However to all intents and purposes the higher the refresh rate the better for graphics. This is a personal choice, if you feel you are getting strained eyes alter the monitor refresh rate until it feels comfortable.
