Postby EWJ on Wed Nov 24, 2010 10:05 am

Hi folks,

need some advice on 3g phones and the like..

I'm a complete novice with phones, basically my phone rings and texts, No camera or such. Sooo...

I need something to keep me awake at night ( silly apps, a camera and internet access) while at work and won't cost the planet.. I'm on vodafone at the mo..

Cheers in advance..

a Iphone 3G 8GB for about 140 pounds second hand (Perfect condition for that price too... or you have been scammed) Then go with O2 and its a 10'er a month for unlimited texts and unlimited internet
Theres one option :D unless your after a nice camera... i think there 2megapixel on the phone

^ Iphones <3

But yeah maybe have you considered doing a contract? Ive never really gone with a contract before though myself, i hate being tied up to anything!
On the websites they normally do the whole spec comparing thing ready for you

Hope i was kind of useful in a little way haha!

Vodafone have just released 'Freebees' on PAYT - basically you can change your tariff so when you topup you get free texts and internet, and your credit is left for calls. O2 have the same thing, Virgin and I guess all the other do too.

If you're looking for something brand new but not ridiculously expensive then check out the Motorola Defy. Upper-midrange smartphone specs and its designed to be very hard-wearing. As you're not on a contract this might be something you desire!

For less money then maybe the HTC Legend or HTC Wildfire. Good specs, Android 2.1, second hand these are very affordable.

You might also want to look at Nokia's, although their operating system is not so based on Apps and Internet as Apple and HTC. Maybe look at a second hand Nokia N97 Mini/new C6, or maybe I guess an E72, but I wouldn't recommend them.

If you must have it at any cost then of course buy an iPhone!
Where are all the stupid people from?
And how'd they get to be so dumb?!

T-mobile do 100mins 100 texts unlimited internet for £10 a month.

Also it flicks over to the orange network if it drops signal which is handy.

Gotta be an iphone :)

Do not get that phone, it lags on messaging and constantly breaks down, crashes and reboots, it is completely horrible to use in day to day use and I would not recommend it to anyone!
