Changing from widescreen to normal

Postby Stv. on Sat Jan 22, 2011 11:52 am

Hi there,

i have a 22" widescreen monitor and play cs in the lowest resolution (640x480)

is there any way i can change my cs startup to think i am using a non-widescreen monitor (like a 17") so that it doesnt stretch it out ingame?

cheers!

I think what you're asking for is to get it to "letterbox".

Which graphics card are you using?

It will be in your Nvidia control panel (where I can not remember but once you find it you will know)

You can specify scaling options, either stretch or with black bars, and some other options

Any particular reason why you are not playing native res? You're aware you are adding a fair amount of input delay which will directly affect response times.

i have had a little ganda within the control panel with no luck yet, i will dig deeper ina minute tho.

as for why, i dont know if you are a 1.6 player? but any hardcore player knows that the lower the resolution this better it is to spray with. :)

NVM i fixed it, i had to change my screen resolution to a lower one. then click the use apect ratio box, it then saved. i then changed my screen resolution to the highest again.

my cs now letterboxes to the proper screen ratio now, thanks all anyway!
