What have you just READ?

Talk about films, television programs or a good read you'd like to share.

Working my way through a book by Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw (Why Does E=mc2?), which explains the fundamentals of special relativity and leads up to Einstein's mass-energy equivalence formula in a way that people with only basic maths can understand and follow.

Brian Cox = Legend.

This. Might have to give that book the once over Pad, thanks - I loved the Solar System series he presented, can't wait for the Universe one that they're filming ^_^

Just finished the Thrawn trilogy from the Star Wars expanded universe, something I've wanted to read for ages ^_^ Thrawn was a very smart character, very much enjoyed it.

Moved back onto a Song of Ice and Fire by George R R Martin now - started the 4th book (A Feast for Crows), with the hope to finishing it before the 5th comes out in September. I keep forgetting how grisly George gets with his characters - I'm starting to get the impression everytime he gets a mental block he clears it by bumping off another one.

Started on Shadows over Baker Street.

A collection of short stories involving Sherlock Homles within the world created by H.P. Lovecraft. It's quite good so far.

I just finished Wilt by Tom Sharpe.

Hillarious, but alittle risque for younger readers.

Short plot, no real spoilers:

Henry wilt is a college lecturer bored with life and whilst walking the dog plans to murder his wife. Awesomeness ensues.

Starting to read the next in the Wilt series: The Wilt Alternative.
The Programmers Mantra: Declare Variables, not War.

I just finished his newest one, 'I shall wear midnight'. It's the latest Tiffany Aching one.

Now back into the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan...only on the second one but really liking them!

Next im planning on giving The Engines of God and Deepsix a go :D
"The rover batteries have 18kwh of juice. The oxygenator alone uses 44.1kwh per sol. See my problem?
You know what? "Kilowatt-hours per sol" is a pain in the ass to say. I'm gonna invent a new scientific unit name.
One kilowatt-hour per sol is... it can be anything.. um...I suck at this ... oh FK it. I'll call it a "pirate-ninja".
All told, the Big Three need 69.9pn, most of that going to the Oxygenator and Atmospheric regulator."
