Just finished Catch-22 for the second time, got even better.
Started A Game of Thrones. Read it for a while, only about 100 pages in and already hooked.

The Primal Blueprint, I have finally finished, but will read it again.

Today I should also finish Game of Thrones, about 100 pages to go! Then I'll start the next book in spain :D

A Dance with Dragons. It was okay; better than the preceding novel but I was hoping for more overall story progression. Instead a whole bunch of new plot threads are brought in with very little closure. Very "cliffhangery" and fun to read nonetheless.

Oh well, I’ll see what happens next in another half decade. :P

I've just finished Clash of Kings and I had a distinct 'what was the point in that?' feeling after reading it. I felt there was no real story progression for the main Robb vs. Lannisters theme, and instead all I got was boring chapters about Catelyn praying and Tyrion 'cupping the sweet breasts' of his whorebitch. What you've written is what I hoped wouldn't be the case, is Martin just dragging out a storyline that could easily be finished with 3 books? Not sure I want to read the 3rd book... is it worth the effort?

In the meantime, I'm gonna read The Pacific, hoping the book is better than the HBO series it ran with.

EDIT: Also agree with what Master Yoda said in the other thread... George Martin is blatantly a massive virgin. :P

A Storm of Swords is flippin' brilliant. You should definitely read it. **** goes down and there are POV chapters which will change your opinions of various characters quite dramatically.

A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons introduce some interesting new sub-plots and entirely new conspiracies and forces come in to play. The world GRRM's built gets more interesting and three-dimensional but at the expense of the plot stagnating a bit.

I finished A Game of Thrones recently, and I'm about 500 pages into A Clash of Kings. I've got the next two (three) books in the series (bought a box set), and by the time I've read them I think the recent publication should be available in paperback. Really enjoying the series so far, although to me the Daenerys subplot stands too much apart from the rest of them (in that it doesn't really feel part of the same story). I dare say that will change as I get beyond book 2.
