The series follows two women, modern-day Alice Tanner (Vanessa Kirby) and medieval Alaïs Pelletier du Mas (Jessica Brown Findlay) who lives through the Crusades and Cathar massacres in medieval France—and their quest to find the Holy Grail.[1] Alice, a volunteer at a French archaeological excavation, discovers the skeletal remains of two people in a cave, as well as a labyrinth-engraved ring, which attracts the attention of unscrupulous individuals. In 1209, newly married Alaïs is living in Carcassonne, a stronghold of Cathars who have been declared heretical by the Church. Alaïs and her father are protecting three sacred books that reveal the secret of the Holy Grail from the Crusaders.[2][3]

I saw part one when it first came out, then had to wait until they made the second part.

This really needs to be watched in it entirety one after the other. Engrossing film which dots back and forth between past and present.

Looks like a good watch, is the second part out yet?

(And fail at people not reading the plot and thinking its the movie remake from the 80's!)

tbqh I knew (shamefully) nothing of the Cathars before this film, but did do some reading up after the first part.

I do like films that inspire you to learn something, even if it is only a small amount. :D

They shouldn't have called it Labyrinth, spandex package denied
This is my sandvich. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My sandvich is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my sandvich is useless. Without my sandvich, I am useless. I must eat my sandvich true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before lunch I swear this creed: my sandvich and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but sandvich. Om nom.
