[TV] Z Nation

Three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood.

Just watched the first episode, the acting is far from perfect but I like the immediate pace of the show. Thought I'd share in case anyone else fancies a zombie fix before crawling dead in October :)
This is my sandvich. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My sandvich is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my sandvich is useless. Without my sandvich, I am useless. I must eat my sandvich true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before lunch I swear this creed: my sandvich and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but sandvich. Om nom.

Might be worth a look. Hey DJ Qualls is in it. My favourite very skinny person.

Seems a brave move to start now with the big boy coming back in a month, and hearing Zee Nation grates my teeth :)

Will probably give it a go when there are a few more episodes out.

Given how poor the walking dead has been I'd say it's a bit tongue in cheek starting now. I hope they continue this focus on action, there's far too much drama in walking dead for my liking. Saying that I'll be happy if they just don't do the whole drama -> filler -> action -> rinse -> repeat

I think all the annoying characters have been killed off in TWD, and Rick's melancholy period seems to have finished, so hopefully the next season can be more action-y.

Certainly no shortage of action and the ceremony for the old lady was interesting and kind of logical.

Then the baby spoiled it. But the dogs made it a bit better.

I'll give it a few more episodes at least.

Is this worth watching now it's got a few episodes out or did it lose interest?

Be aware that a lot of it is IMHO tongue in cheek. I consider it a nice alternative to the Walking Dead while still enjoying that. Think the Return of the Living Dead as opposed to the Romero zombie films and that is how I view it.

That's a pretty accurate assessment. They're similar only in genre so far, which is fine by me lol. Still enjoying it myself but I haven't seen this weeks episode yet

I do like my Zombie flicks TBH. I feel some empathy lately on Monday at college watching all the young people shuffling about trying to wake up enough for lectures. More Red Bullllll than braiiiiins though.

Watched the first episode last night and was unimpressed. I'll give it a couple more goes but it was pushing the limit of what I'm prepared to overlook in order to enjoy something :(

lol there are admittedly a few "WHY?" moments, I think the overall premise and the speed it's moving at is more enjoyable than the episode plot for me

Watched four of these now and it's definitely improved, and made itself clear it's not taking itself too seriously.

Season 2 has begun. Tongue in cheek? Using zombies as mobile clothes racks or hatstands. :)

I've got it in my pile. Still 7 episodes of Hannibal left before it, though.

Thread update made me realise I hadn't watched the end of the first series. I did not see that exotic addition coming, it's a bold strategy, let's hope it pays off.

The first season went in a direction I wasn't expecting. Hopefully season two is interesting.
