i'm sorry, but it's not even the joke that bothers me, it's the fact that in this 'democratic' community, you can get away with taking the piss out of a certian group of people however when i post a light hearted joke about muslims i get warned by admins and my post removed... yeah makes so much sence doesnt it. looks like the reasons i left stopped posting here in december are creeping back up on me.

The reasons Hung posted make sense. However certain things right now are very delicate and sensitive. Im not saying that one takes priority over others im just saying that some degree of political correctness must be addressed by the admins. This is hard to do.

Lets not post anymore about whether this is right or wrong but simply draw a line under it. threads get killed by things that can be kept to a PM.

this IS a democratic community. making, as u put it, a "light hearted" joke about muslims isnt on as it can cause all kinds of problems. just look at the news recently with those "cartoons" and all the trouble theyve caused. no offence was meant by them but it still caused it because the muslims dont believe in idolity and "praising" pictures. as decent ppl we have to respect that.

you've said that u aren't bothered by this joke, so why kick up all the fuss about it? if you and all the other geordies had complained about it then i KNOW it wouldve been moved. but seeing as no1 has complained, not even you, its not getting moved. also, the other geordie people on these forums have posted saying how funny they found it.

tbh i think u need to chill out. life is too short to take things uber serious. im a yorkshireman and i find jokes about flat caps and whippets funny. ive also got a big nose and im the first person to take the piss out of myself. you need to develop the ability to poke fun at yourself and relax. dont take everything to heart and personally.
