Racing News and Views

Welcome to the Racing thread.

Why a racing thread?
This thread is for those that are interested in Racing sports and want to keep others up to date with latest news, results or a discussion on new events that you agree or disagree with.
From what I have seen in the past not very many topics are made on Racing but when a thread is created, there does seem to be a lot of interest, one sticky, one thread, plenty to talk about.

I know Formula 1 is a topic that a lot of us on UKCS do follow. Anyone follow the Superbikes? Or maybe your a mad Horse Racing fan and want to share the latest on which horses are in form, the list is endless.

I have added a few websites where you can go to look something up or if you want to see what the latest is in the racing world.
(If there are any missing or any useful websites you have that you want to share please PM me and I will add them for you)

I will start this whole thread off with.

Kubica Wins Canadian Grand Prix:

Did anyone see the race? I only seen it on the news but was kind of confused.
Hamilton crashed into the back of Kimi Raikkonen in the pits, both drivers had to retire from the race, which paved the way for Kubica to pick up the win and it sees him go top of the leader board 4 points clear of Massa and Hamilton who both sit in second and third.

Some guy crashed into the back of Hamilton after he smashed into Kimi but they replaced his nose cone and he finished the race. I think Kubica was with Raikkonen in pits but not sure. Quite freaky to be honest. Numpty Lewis :P

*might spoil for dean*

I only watched a little bit and talked to my dad who was watching it, during the race he said that BMW had 1st and 2nd place. So did they get a double?

Cause Kubica drives for BMW right?
Congrats to him nonetheless :)

Different type of racing - but i went to the dogs a few days at down at walthomstow in london and its a proper rush, just putting on a few quid on some dogs but man you can see the enjoyment people have over betting.

its quite scary how hooked u get in the race

played right into Mclarens hands this race did.

Now Lewis is 5 points up on Massa.

And Hiekki is closing the gap rapidly.

And lol at Kimi... sucked so hard...

Well watching the replays, Hamilton didn't really have much of a choice unless he completely stopped and then started again as he was pushed off the course "so to speak". None the less still nice to see him in the top 3 places.

PS. Added link for you temp :)

makes the formula 1 championship more exciting :D
difference between Hamilton and Massa is only 2 points.

Formula1.com wrote:
McLaren plan to appeal the decision.Assuming their right to appeal is accepted, McLaren's case against Hamilton's penalty will be heard by the FIA's International Court of Appeal at a date to be determined.

hamilton looses his belgium win because he was forced to cut the corner, whilst raikonnen/massa (cant remember which one) got away with an "unsafe" pit stop with one of the force india a few races back.

Typical...

FIA might as well give mclaren another £100Mill fine. Its ridiculous tbh.

another surprising and amusing race today. Hamilton was the loser of the day. Punished and Massa hit him from behind. However Alonso managed to win another race for the 2nd time in a row.
