Help need car amp!

Postby sirstanly on Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:08 pm

Hey
as many of you know i put a new stero in my car : http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_720963_langId_-1_categoryId_165474
and i put in these speakers (changed from last ones as they better :D) : http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_504815_langId_-1_categoryId_165707
with the same sub :)

but now what i need help with, im putting more of the vibe speakers in the rear doors :)
but obv what i really need is a amp, i read you dont want to run speakers at full power as they can break
so i was looking at a 1200w amp, (300w each speaker, rated at 345w each)
the sub has its own amp
was just wondering if you guys had any advice which one to get etc
i would rather not spend that much and would like it to be quite simple (as im fitting it) lol
thanks
Dan

dont under power your speakers, choose an amp which has more power than you need.

under powering speakers can damage them.

i was told to have less power than they can handle so that way it doesnt overload them
they rms at 115 and max at 345
and with amp they will have 300 max

was i told wrong?

edit*
ahhh i see i was wrong
what power should i get now then, 1600w?
