Erm. We lost tonight 0-2. Against Morecambe! They had a decent game plan and stopped us playing. They then took their chances. Good result against Gillingham tonight for you though Xhiea.

We look stronger than last season but a hard match against Southampton on Saturday (which I just got my ticket for today) will be a test of how good we are.

First Win of season! Away at Reading! First time we have ever won there as well! Luke Steele MOTM saving 2 penalties in 2 minutes!

Steady start from us (Leicester), somewhat expected though due to the amount of players we've brought in. I have to wait until late Sept until I can see the team in person, but hopefully by that time the squad will have gelled and another striker will have come in.

As a side note and even though it's not what you want from your own team, I love the unpredictability of the Championship. Peterborough beating Ipswich 7-1 with 90% possession? Mental.

ipswich were tipped to be the 'underdog' too, absolutely horrific defence.

All 3 promoted teams in the champ have started really well, which I guess is unsurprising when you consider what Norwich did last season and, to a lesser extent, us the season before. It just goes to show that having confidence and a positive winning attitude within the squad is perhaps just as crucial (if not more so) as the footballing quality of the squad itself.

That said, I'm really hoping both Southampton and Brighton cock up soon enough; the championship is competitive enough as it is without newly-promoted teams being in and around the play-offs. Nothing personal Xhiea :P

It's also quite helpful that the overall quality of the league is very low.

Very low? Show me a second-tier league in the world that's half as well respected as the Championship.

Well I doubt I could be that doesn't represent the quality of the football, which I said is low. The difference between the Championship and League 2 is much smaller than the difference between the Championship and the Premiership.

Fair enough, but I disagree. Quality of football? Swansea and Norwich will probably go down this year, despite playing better quality football with Championship footballers than probably half of the Premiership. I can think of 6-7 teams currently in the Prem that I think would genuinely have problems in the Championship, but I can't think of any League 2 teams that would currently do anything other than fail in the Championship.

6-7 teams that would struggle in the Championship with their current squad, please enlighten me?

I didn't say struggle did I, I said 'would genuinely have problems'. Swansea, Wigan, Norwich, QPR, Blackburn, Fulham - 6 teams that I think that would have problems in the Championship with their current squads. In fact, Evertons squad is so thin at the moment I'd be even tempted to include them if they don't strengthen by the end of August.

Anyway, this conversation is going nowhere fast. The best thing about football is that everyone has different opinions; you stick with yours and i'll stick with mine. Good day to you Sir :P

you're having a laugh mate, the difference between the championship and league two is more alike the gap between the top 6 prem teams and the bottom 10 prem teams. The bottom 10 of the prem would have a hard time in the championship any day.

Vicente is probably the most suprising signing of the summer. Hope he get's past his injury problems so we can see the spectacle of him playing for Brighton. :P
