I feel that Man Utd have really mismanaged the situation with De Gea, they are letting the lad down.

He's a 19 year old who's come over from Spain where the football is very different because of this he has little to no experience of dealing with the crosses or the constant fouling in the penalty area. Throwing him into the deep end no matter how well he did in Spain was a stupid idea because he doesn't know how to deal with the situations. If you add in that he's not physically overpowering then the problem is only exasperated. He's a talented Goalkeeper but it seems he's getting no effective training on how to deal with the problems he's facing.

Sticking him in the reserves would be a terrible idea, it would crush any confidence he has left and almost certainly finish his Man Utd career.

Shock-horror, we lose. Really can't wait for Cisse and Ba to get back next week, Ameobi does nothing and Best isn't great either.

Can't say I agree at all. I think when De Gea gets the hang for English football he'll be a much better player, and he isn't at that stage yet to be playing against the top clubs in England. Whatever way you look at it, He needs to get the experience. Playing for the reserves would give him that so he could return to the first team fit and ready. Right now he's learning as he goes and it's just not going to help anyone.

He's also 6ft 4" which is imposing enough for any keeper, he just needs more experience.

If you put him in the reserves you're effectively saying we don't believe in you anymore and all those mistakes were entirely your fault. You can see how nervous he is now, just imagine if the backing of the club was taken away.

As for how imposing he is, just watch the way Liverpool acted towards him in the first half whenever a corner was taken. He was effectively blocked out of the crosses and certainly couldn't come for the ball. You can't see Joe Hart or Pepe Reina being blocked off the way he is, maybe that's partly experience but I think it's mostly physical strength.

De Gea situation is a riskyy one at the moment he seems to lack major concentration at times and i think he needs to put on a few stones so he can throw some weight about he just doesnt seem strong enough for me to be a keeper. Linderguuard i tought was good but he's been to blame for some major mistakes in goal so we just gotta stick it out. Schemichel wasnt awesome on his start to OT life.

Not at all. If anything, moving to the reserves shows the club has his back. They want him to improve. They want him to settle and they want him to enjoy himself. Playing against teams in an uncomfortable position while constantly making silly mistakes will do De Gea more damage then good.

The 'Liverpool block' showed his age. All he had to do was stand on the line when they started that nonsense, but you could see he literally took his eye off the game to throw Carroll out of the way and the ball flew over his head (literally skimming his head)

The blocking in the box happens ever match not just against Liverpud and it's at least partly to do with his strength.

I really can't see your logic regarding just sticking him in the reserves. However partly playing him in the reserves would be a good idea especially since he isn't playing every game. Come to think of it he surely must already be doing this. It also doesn't help as DeanX said the Lindegard hasn't been totally faultless. It's a difficult situation.

The first game was great, craig noone was excellent for us, shame about the rumours about him going to cardiff but i dont think he will want to go now!

They do respect poyet, but in all honesty i think poyet should have kept quiet on the subject! Suarez and Poyet are good mates though, poyet is his mentor.

this was my view for the last game:

hope i can get a ticket for the next tie :D
