Arguably the most entertaining part of last night's Hearts v Liverpool game...

Man city's group is probably the toughest, don't see them going through.

Looks like a nice group, I dont know though.. City has the potential, but I dont see it happening either, Real will most likely go through and id put Ajax as 2nd, since Dortmund sold their key profiles.

He wont Dean, he said that already and im so glad to hear it, cause United are better than the last two years CL have proven, that finale against Barca was so horrible to watch and last years exit was humiliating, so hope we are back with a vengance this year going all the way!

Don't think they will win either. Don't see any English teams winning anything in Europe this season! :(

Well well well, Manchester City felt the cruel wrath of the Champions League last night, but what a fantastic game for a neutral! Think that game may just have kick stated Real Madrid's stuttering start to the season.

It was a cracking game to start the competition proper this season.

Hope the rest of the games are equally as entertaining. :)

Shocking red card on Nani last night.

To say it was a challenge is just wrong. Yellow card for failing to control the ball and colliding with a player, nothing more. Disgusted.

Typical Man U fan :P

I only support a Conference level team, and consider myself entirely neutral on this - I have to say that after seeing umpteen replays last night, it was a very harsh sending off.

However, in real time, it looked like a terrible challenge, and from the ref's perspective I can only assume that he thought Nani made contact with the chest area - That's far too high and clearly a red card for grossly dangerous play.

Unfortunately, I think you have to have some sympathy here...

That's why a certain linesman should be doing his job and giving the ref another pair of eyes!

Plus, lets consider that Nani is trying to control the ball, as he's entitled to, and now Arbaloa is coming for the ball, as he is entitled to do. The two players more or less collide with each other while trying to get the ball- noone actually sets out to tackle the other one.

That may be, but I don't see what relevance this has to whether a situation is dangerous or not?

The decision wasn't helped my Arbaloa rolling around on the floor, if Nani was aware of the challenge and had still gone for the ball then yes red card but he was totally oblivious to everything around him and was fixed on the ball. Was more stupid than reckless/ dangerous play, yellow card and get on with it! no need to spoil what was potentially turning out to be a great game.
