I found this game a few weeks ago called Escape Velocity Nova and OMGG its soooooo addictive!

the idea of it is u start as a wimpy traider, then after earning enough credits you buy up better and stronger ships... from there u can either take on the universe as a pirate plundering ships or u can take on the rebels or the aliens...

Or like me u can take on the role of a bounty hunter ; )

If your a star trek fan there are total conversions coming out turning entire game into a trek heaven!
