Steam Discounts/Offers

Postby Nelsaidi on Thu Jul 02, 2009 5:55 pm

Hey, I thought I'd make a thread to discuss all the steam offers, I'm sure there are many like myself who most of their steamp urchases have been on games which have been discounted to a reasonable price on steam.

So currently Fallout 3 is on offer, I'm thinking of buying it, it is a reasonable price at £13.49 , is it worth it, is it a good game?

I've played it at a mate's for a bit.

Seemed pretty good but didn't have more than about 30 mins on it.

I've stickied this so that anyone can continue to add different promotions when they happen. :)

If anyone sees any promotions relating to CounterStrike:Source, CounterStrike 1.6, Day of Defeat:Source, Left4Dead or Team Fortress 2 please make a thread in Off Topic about it also so that anyone who does not have certain games can get them at discounted price and play on UKCS. :)

For me, it's the best racing game I have ever played, I used to be a NFS fan, but right after playing this, I converted.

It's great but, it can be a little bit difficult without a controller, and it has no tutorial, so it takes some time to get used to the driving mechanics, which are quite realistic as well, other than that it's a perfect game; stunning visuals, a plethora of amazing cars, very thrilling race types and race environments, and the best HUD camera mode ever created.

As obvious above, I'm quite biased because I really love this game, I know people who did not like it at all, so for the sake of your wallet, I'd suggest waiting a little bit for someone to tell the other side of his GRID story, you have till a little after sunday midnight. :)

This weekend only, save 50% on any of the Brothers in Arms games, including the latest critical hit, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Or buy them all together in the Brothers in Arms Pack and save a total of 60%!

Again, i want to know is the deal worth it? i would probably get the Brithers in Arms Pack.

~60 hours played in the last 2 weeks and will buy all 5 DLC's, got one already. Its AWESOME, in my top 3 games I'd say, along side bioshock and COD4.

Just keep an eye on this for price reductions etc. Steam Forum: Price reductions and sales thread

Althou i have to add, everyone outside the UK should buy their games elsewere because of the $1 = €1. Quite a bit of money to be saved by visiting your local retailers instead of using steam.

You know what? "Kilowatt-hours per sol" is a pain in the ass to say. I'm gonna invent a new scientific unit name.
One kilowatt-hour per sol is... it can be anything.. um...I suck at this ... oh FK it. I'll call it a "pirate-ninja".
All told, the Big Three need 69.9pn, most of that going to the Oxygenator and Atmospheric regulator."

Must agree with Jihns comment on prices , it ridiculous a downloaded version of a game is more expensive to purchase in the UK than a hard copy ver.

Case in point : Aion pre order - on Steam : £34 and at Game: £24.99 ... wtf ?
The only time theres value in a Steam purchase is on thier specials...and even then its still a good idea to check the shops like Game.
Sometimes keeping an eye on your stats is not a good thing :P

Not trying to derail the topic completely here, but in response to flares post. UK gets alot better prices then the rest of europe on steam.

Steam US: Aion pre order - 30.49£
Steam UK: Aion pre order - 34£
Steam Rest of Europe: Aion pre order - 43.56£

I dont mind paying a little bit extra for games to have them on steam. Personally i dont want to save CD's and boxes. Its just extra waste of space and more clutter.
But rest of europe is really getting shafted hard with the prices.
