Well I have to admit I am having more fun in Hawken than MWO , least the plain recruit clunker Hawken gives you can take a few hits... in MWO I feel like a soldier with legs shot off in a AWP shooting range using a mp5 in CS.
Was in a match in MWO as a HEAVY , and got in a fight and suddenly just fell over... dead, no armor damage or warning...just dead.
In contrast had a first match in the open beta in Hawken and got kills, tanked a lot of shells, dashed and jumped to safety , repaired and went back for some more... though the matchmaking is a mess still. I was on a team at rank 0 , with our highest being a rank 11 ... the enemy had a rank 18 and a 20 and a 21.
These ranks do make a bit of a differences, more speed, more damage, less heat , more explosion radius , more equipment ... and it shows on the battle.
The issue is that you can select your team, so if you see all the high ranks on one side you can stack... it doesnt put you in a team.
For first impressions I was impressed, and that is something as I had played the closed beta... the open beta client seems way more optimised and runs pretty smooth for me.
... least as far as I can tell, its is a bit hectic and I am rough so I cant tell if I 2 of my 10 bullets aint registering or I am dipping under 60FPS in a furball fight.
Sometimes keeping an eye on your stats is not a good thing
