Nope bandits are user controlled players that survive by killing other players and looting there stuff. I do this, sometimes... :3

I have been going great recently, haven't died by another player or zombie in 6 hours!
Currently running around with an AKM and an CZ550. I saw another player with Ghillie Suit and an M1014 near the military tents in Stary Sobor, so I killed him. And when I was running to his body he ALT + F4 so his body disappeared and you can't loot it. Sort of wanted that Ghillie Suit. :( Hope Rocket fixes that soon, it's really annoying.

Tbh that screenshot is a pretty bad one. You can make stuff out, at least I could whilst moving between and inside buildings. It seems pretty accurate to me and I'm pretty sure the characters eyes adjust. But yeah the lighting could be improved however I'm not sure how much it can be as the ARMA 2 engine is well less than impressive.

I have had very few run-ins with other players that resulted in shooting on sight although I have been guilty of murdering some people on sight. :P Worst of which was a new spawn who sprinted into a staircase, he scared the hell out of me and instinctively I hit him with my axe; well once I'd started it felt silly to stop so I hacked him down and stole his one bandage. :twisted:

Bandits are just a term for people who kill other players, a few updates ago their appearance changed but that's been taking out. I think it would be best to return in some capacity to a visual style of identification however not as obvious as before (e.g. face mask and hood).

Edit: IMO the main problem at the moment is zombies being too attracted to footsteps especially through fences etc.

Edit 2: just spawned inside a wall and broke me legs when trying to move. :P

Edit 3: Truly awful death earlier... after surviving an axe wielding survivor (when I was unarmed), the electro fire station (with some bloke taking pot shots at me with a shotgun; although I did find an M4) and a run in with some ZEDs near a barn I managed to die by falling from the top of said barn which broke my legs. I did the only honest thing and wasted all my ammo, I then dumped my gear one by one and died in a bush. :cry: Not had a good night.

EDIT: Well the fun was over quickly... went to the big airfield in the north and climbed the ATC tower only to be gun downed by some sniper in the fire station. Damn! :cry:

one problem with the bike is that it can draw as much attention as a car lol

i was at a friends house for two days were my girlfriend (Cardboard_Dinos), Snipersteive and i wear joining up doing really well until the famous one hit broken bone syndrom hit us all at the same time -.-

but i also joined up with a group of friendlies to then find out after i helped them out they turned on my when i ran out of ammo and looted my beans :(

its nice to know after starting this thread how many peopolle on ukcs actually play this mod/ game definatley need to make a group

As kool as the idea is i think i'd get bored pretty quick without any objective to the game and it's limited looting (as in you can't go in every building cant loot from dressers and wardrobes etc).

I'm not saying not having any objective to work for is a bad thing though i mean if it was a really rich and diverse world and you could do things like build up communities and and loot and salvage pretty much anything then that would be really awsome and would have plenty of longevity but as it stands it seems far too limited to keep me interested any more than probably about 3 days :(

Kinda makes me a bit mad too because a zombie survival horror MMO like this would have SO MUCH potential i'd be willing to pay a subscription if it was decent enough for sure because i love stuff like that.

i see where you are coming form templar but its only a mod of a millitary sim which is still in alpha and is a free mod

also arma 3 has had rumours saying that all of the houses will be enterable and the dayz dev team are working closely with bohemia interactive developers

I suppose i was a bit harsh with my criticism, after watching video's there is still so much you can do with it so i may just buy it anyway :P

its good i mean a group of three of us just got an ATV up and running and you can store all your gear in it so we used it as our ammo bike and we had an m24 an m16 and an enfield and went and killed the admin
on the uk4 server which is definitely one of my favorite servers

yeah the problem with this game is a lot of people give it stick and say its completely pointless it need to be more user friendly and more arcadey "more like COD" the thing is its a new type of game its supposed to be hard its in its alpha and its not a new game its a mod of a game that isn't that new and the engine has always let it down

im not ranting at you templar+ I'm just explaining why i think people should give rocket and the dev team a bit of break and a pat on the back for such a good job so far

:D

Sounds interesting :) more user friendly would be a big plus but more like COD? lol what a turn off! i think one of it's main appeals is how difficult the game is i know thats what appeals to me alot by watching a few vids.

Yea i wasn't putting the game down just for the sake of it i know the Arma engine isn't brilliant to work with and it's not the dev's faults with what they have to work with and i do agree they deserve a pat on the back a game like this has looooong been overdue.

i definitely agree the arma engine is my main gripe but its still good fun to play you just have to nurse the game really and to be honest at the moment know what glitches to use to your advantage like the steep hills when the zombies run of them and die

but i cant wait for arma 3 ive been playing arma 2 with my friends for a long time the normal game and other mods and arma 3 is just looking amazing especially as they have a completely new physics engine and also the lighting looks so much more realistic

you also have the advantage of being able to take anyones uniform and be able to go unnoticed in enemy camps (im getting ideas of the walking dead scene :P)

also being able to change the scopes on your rifle so you aren't always stuck to your one zoom

there are tonnes of new developments for arma 3 i cant wait and seeing as they are close with rocket and the dayz devteam i cant wait to see what is produced

Rocket said on that video with TB that he didn't believe that the ARMA 3 netcode would be up to scratch so he would most likely stick to ARMA 2. I can't see it being switched over to ARMA 3 for a long time.

ahh i havent seen that video thats a shame i was lead to believe it would be quite simple although must have got my information wrong never mind arma 3 will still be a brilliant game just for being arma 3
and im sure there will be zombie mods for it later on down the line

and im quite happy with arma 2 anyway so win win
