A TRULY OPEN UNIVERSE
Whether a distant mountain or a planet hanging low on the horizon, you can go there. You can fly seamlessly from the surface of a planet to another, and every star in the sky is a sun that you can visit.
Where you’ll go and how fast you’ll make your way through this universe is up to you. It’s yours for the taking.

Image

EXPLORATION IS SEEING THINGS NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN BEFORE
Explore uncharted solar systems and catalogue unique new forms of life. Every planet’s landscape is different from the next, and populated by species never before encountered.
Find ancient artefacts that could reveal the secrets behind the universe.
Choose whether to share your discoveries with other players. They’re exploring the same vast universe in parallel; perhaps you’ll make your mark on their worlds as well as your own.

Image

SURVIVE ON A DANGEROUS FRONTIER
Every solar system, planet, ocean and cave is filled with danger, and you are vulnerable.
Your ship and suit are fragile, and every encounter can test your skills to the limit. From dogfighting in space to firstperson combat on a planet’s surface, you will face foes ready to overwhelm you.
And one mistake could see you lose everything. In No Man’s Sky, every victory and every defeat has lasting consequences

Image

BUILD FOR AN EPIC JOURNEY
Whether you want to explore and see things never before discovered, or directly set course for the centre of the galaxy, how you play No Man’s Sky is up to you.
But you cannot take your voyage lightly. You’ll need to prepare.
Collect precious resources on the surfaces of planets and trade them for the ships, suits and equipment that will take you to your destiny in the stars.

It's been an interesting ride for No Man's Sky here at PC Gamer. We really liked what we saw at E3, but less than two weeks later we couldn't even say for certain if it was coming to the PC at all. It's apparently now been confirmed that it is, but not until sometime after the launch of the PS4 version.

Thanks for beta testing the game PS4 owners
This is my sandvich. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My sandvich is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my sandvich is useless. Without my sandvich, I am useless. I must eat my sandvich true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before lunch I swear this creed: my sandvich and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but sandvich. Om nom.

But I'm feeling good, And if you don't exist, you're still one illusion that I can't resist

Sounds boring, you cant establish a base you merely hop from one place to the next, exploring is a side quest of getting resources... its like Minecraft but you cant make a home, you need to forge on and on and on.

I guess if you like that aspect it ain't bad, but exploring ahead means meeting more 'robots' that can sell you shite...

Yay I am the first to explore this place, wheres the nearest Macdonalds so I can have a party ?

If you are the first, why are there outposts there before you and already fully automated so you can read a script and buy shit. Feel alone ? Fuck, no just ebay some shit to your new planet...

The idea is ok, but why do you need to go further ? What impact are you having on the environment... besides I called the planet the home of the Apedicks, or forheadvaginas , what other impact ? Can you exterminate the whole population ? Would it do something ? Dunno because you would get bored long before anything actually happened, or get attacked.
These Aliens ain't stupidly weird and unusual, just more bots with the same lasers and crap.

The only 'true' goal is to get to the centre, Elite did this years ago with much less pretence, and the modern version does it better... than No Mans Sky ? I don't know but how much better would it have to be exactly to beat Elite and not just seem more the same but... planets.

Its my opinion, and I do hope if you enjoy No Mans, that you really enjoy it, I can and often do miss the point of these... may it be a fun experience for you.
Sometimes keeping an eye on your stats is not a good thing :P

Some things are painfully obvious, others must be made obvious... painfully

I also play Elite: Dangerous a lot, have done since release nearly 2 years ago. I also have the lifetime pass for Elite so i'm in it for the long run. This is a bit different. They aren't trying to beat Elite, at least I don't think they are. There is room for both, and for Star Citizen as well which will be even more of a different game to Elite & NMS.

totally agree with that statement, they are indeed two very different things but i have to say that NMS looks so beautiful compared to ED

It's a very shallow, pretty time sink. It's a shame it was butchered before release, hopefully the upcoming patch makes some marked improvements as this went from a must buy to a consider it in a sale deal

Got it on launch day and I must say I'm pretty bored with it already. Not much to it and not much to do, its all very samey after your first 30 planets or so.

A mile wide but only an inch deep.
