I was a massive fan of UT when I was younger, and UT2K4 as well, so I was really pleased to see they're making a new F2P game.

Anyone else looking forward to it? There's a pre-alpha build also available, if anyone fancies a crack.

^ This.

I haven't played UT2004 properly for years, would love to play it again.

Looking forward to the new version. I downloaded the per-alpha, and seems all right so far.

Nobody plays UT2k4 anymore which is a shame, because some game modes are truly brilliant.

There are still some people playing but sadly not the really fun game modes.

Still, the 24/7 Torlan servers still exist.

Superpsyched for this one.
Spent countless hours fragging my friends online and in LAN parties playing Deck 17 and later different onslaught maps in UT2k4

Not sure about free to play model and would be happy to pay for it.

I guess Unreal tournament 4 will now become showcase for UE4 engine while they make money from micro payments of much larger developer pool and hope one of them strikes gold with game they then get percentage of sale from.

I guess modders will have to pay for it as well, so players can then chip in via donate when downloading those maps.

Still don't know why not just sell the game for say 20 or so, to at least get some money back on initial release if not your typical 40-50 bucks/euro/gbp price.
