Your right with rainmeter. Used rainmeter with the "10-Foot HUD" Skin

Also have an Amana08 Skin for Mirinda IM and Winamp
Winamp : http://naalo.deviantart.com/art/AMANA08-winamp-77919489
Mirinda IM: http://naalo.deviantart.com/art/AMANA08-miranda-77920370

The bar is a Thalmmpact Rocketdock skin (http://eos8.deviantart.com/art/ThaImpact-118789353)
with Basic5 symbols (http://otisbee.deviantart.com/art/BASIC5-TEXTUAL-102918120)

still didn't finish to include the Amana08 Skin for windows. It is makeing some droubles with Win7.
(http://naalo.deviantart.com/art/AMANA08-visual-style-77918472) tried it with litestep too, but its not working under win7 :(

With litestep i always get shell problems, does anyone know how to get it working on win7?

yes, all you need is to download rainmeter. The normal clock looks almost like the vista clock, which doesn't look good.
You can find a lot of good skins here : http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins

Here's my desktop, Windows 7, RocketDock toolbar at the bottom, icons inflate in a pleasing way as the mouse moves over them. Taskbar at top set to autohide, so if I make a window fullscreen then it fills the entire desktop, but I have quick access to all my most frequent stuff. It's a lot like my Mac desktop to be honest, only I use the Mac for a bunch of other stuff.

Btw, Taoism, your desktop is really cool 8)
