Could anyone tell me how to get the Time and Date on screen in the way that FunkySpider/Windowmaker has it? I've been long looking for a way to do just that. : /

yep you're right with rainmeter, you can find tons of skins for it

I actually used a program called Samurize to create date effect that sits in the desktop background. I then used a another program called Rocketdock to create the object dock at the top with a set of custom icons I don't have the link for right now but this is the current result on Vista;


(Yes that is a custom theme if you like it PM me and I'll find the link same with the icons)

From what I'm led to understand while Rainmeter is a lot flashier and easier to use. However it's far more system intensive then Samurize, which does also require you to learn just how to use it to get the most out of it. Thankfully the tutorials I managed to find on it were easy to follow and I was able to grasp it reasonably quickly. In fact the second project I did on it was of a working analogue clock;



This was my theme for quite a while until I decided on the minimal look I have now. (Thanks to Colossuss(Luke) who re-coloured the background image of the Pyro for me)

Can't get used to it so far and I'm still searching for another theme.
