Source Filmmaker

So I've been playing with SFM and I didn't expect it to be so fun to use :D
So far I've used it to stage things for posters and a few TF2 sigs but need to get into the movie side of it.

Example:

Anyone else still playing with SFM??

Mmm, I have it downloaded, but not sure I have even opened it. I'd like to get into that sort of thing as my sig desperately needs updating to say the least.

Yes, Pink Floyd is awesome, but it could do with being a bit better.

I may make a little competition out of it :)

I did try it for a little while but I could never really get the hang of it. I could also never think of anything I would like to try and do with it either. Maybe need to try and get back into it again at somepoint but not really in any rush either

I think without a purpose things can go stale quickly.
This idea popped into my head because of Apache, it worked quite well, it progressed from some random Hammer to the wrench and then I tweaked the DoF until it looked acceptable.

Thank you :) I'll probably have a play with the animation side in the new year and I'll keep the thread updated with any fun developments.

ApacheFlame if you are thinking of making a competition please do, the art section can do with some luvin' :p

So I spent a good few hours setting up a composition for the rome poster competition but it would be a waste to only display a snippet so here's the full image!

Hey it's the only one I know how to play!
This is my sandvich. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My sandvich is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my sandvich is useless. Without my sandvich, I am useless. I must eat my sandvich true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before lunch I swear this creed: my sandvich and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but sandvich. Om nom.

If you watch the Free to Play documentary there are some lovely SFM shots of kill and such, rather than just showing the game screen. Beautifully rendered, but would you expect anything less from Valve?

DOTA is a real bitch to animate because the models can be a bit wonky and you have to import everything manually. But still, good fun!
