I prefer the second but move the Z up slightly on bottom right.

I like your current Zuki, very DayZ!

I would have personally placed the zuki in large font, filling the whole canvas, behind the guy and to not have the little "z" at all or at least not in white, maybe a dark overlay on the green to the left so it's a bit of subtle texture (maybe have it at a slight angle and with an opacity of maybe 20% so like really subtle).

I like the first one, very nice colours, well blended and I'm a fan of blur/sharpen, an easy way to create some depth :) Text shouldn't steal focus from the render/main focus point, at least in my opinion. SO I would remove the Z and keep the text "Zuki". I would personally make the text smaller and perhaps make it blend more with the image, colourwise.

Overall I thought it was a good sig, man. Good work!
