DoD#1 - Will be closing if you don't want it

DoD#1 is now running a fixed cycle using the following 5 great maps:

dod_avalanche
dod_churchyard_b5
dod_flash
dod_salerno
dod_anzio

The duration of each map is 30 minutes before changing automatically.

The swapme command is also now fully working for everyone, without players having to fiddle with cl_restrict_server_commands settings. Therefore its easy for players to switch between DoD#1 and DoD#2.

Lets give this a try and see if we can get DoD#1 being better used.

well, the HC boys tried many times to get #1 started, but all the people who actually wanted customs didnt come over from donner.
anyway, hopefully some people will play this also now..

Is the cl_restrict_server_commands "0" still required for interserver chat? When I've been on #1 and tried to fish some players from #2, I don't even get a response. One or two regulars show up, we have a 30 minute brawl and that's it. :=

Interserver chat has never needed cl_restrict_server_commands 0.

If you didn't get a response from the other server its because they either didn't know how to respond, or just being plain rude.

I do appreciate the players that are helping to get a 2nd DoD server running. It seems insane that one server gets totally full and the other is left empty.

I _really_ liked the customs that were on #1, too bad the average dod player doesn't like customs at all. Lets hope this + smaller sized donner helps for the low numbers.

And would it be possible to introduce a new map to rotation every once in a while? as it seems ppl like the custom maps once they've played them for a couple of times (take churchyard for example). But of course only if the server gets players.

I like the idea they have for 1.6, a set amount of maps (best valve maps for DoD:s) and a number of custom maps that get changed.

After 1 gets a regular player base it a simlar idea might be a good idea.

Yeah, we'll adjust some of the maps on cycle each month to keep it fresh.

swap dod_salerno for dod_cherbourg_b2

its a server filler or swap it for the donner only server

it good on fps i get 100 - 240 fps
and ive not got a top spec pc

i played cherbourg with peds the other day, and i found the map WAY too big, even for a 32 man server. i didnt like it either, so my personal opinion comes in the way for a more objective view

yes mate you need to do normal y chat but start with a + and it goes between donner and no1 vice versa

Tonight on DoD#1 it was good to see the guys from [CЭ], HC|uk and obv making an effort to get it filled along with others from UKCS but more is needed, so c'mon ppl get over to #1 and leave donner only alone for a bit
