UKCS Mega Game Servers

Good idea to replace Churchyard with either Kalt or Argentan. Tbh I think the standard maps will always get some numbers going if only from team/clan players wanting practice on the usual match maps, such as Anzio, flash, kalt, Avalanche and Donner.
Cannot really see any point in making it a UKCS member only server. I cannot remember the last time we had any serious amount of members in game at the same time. It's good to get it populated however at present, and the visitors of today may be tomorrow’s new members, we all visited here for the first time once

anzio is a very good map but only if you got lots of players that like the mate kalt rocks and if it was optimised better kalt at nights even better than normal kalt

Bin Anzio and replace with kalt.

Btw Vimsey, havnen't played kalt nights it sounds

Anyone up for FF on permanent on #1 to try it out. I know there is the vote option but half the server never vote it on (i think because they dont know there is a settings menu) so its never used.

Have seen enough intentional tk'ing that if we don't have at least a VK on when there are more than three players, it could turn out to be a nightmare. But if TC could rig up a test version of the TK limit kicker (:3), I don't think it would be a bad idea. At least all the spray & pray action from the end of the line would cease. :p

lol Jack, you are one of the main ones that made me change from the thompson to bar cus all I ever heard was "headshot from a thompson"

I think 3 is too little as an mg or a nade could (by accident) do that, 5-8 maybe, but a trail run sounds good.

Personally i think UKCS, with the outside players that visit us, is far better off with ff off.
The last time friendly fire was on, for any length of time, it was total mayhem. Admin’s were warning, slapping, kicking and short banning players almost constantly. And even then, it still got so bad at times that ff was turned off. Oh, and the moaning and bitching that went on, still haunts me now (Admittedly, this was not usually UKCS members, more the outsiders. But it did spoil the game for us all)
I'm not saying that there is not a time and place for it; just we have to be careful. As UKCS members we make suggestions here, but, at present we are usually (and unfortunately) way outnumbered on the servers by the visitors.

Just my 2p, as someone that has been there before.

How about we put it on when there's a smaller amount of players on, which most often is ukcs members, and when it fills up, turn it off? This is probably what happens anyway, as the ukcs members has ff default set to on, and the randomers who come son has it set to off.

Where have you all gone?
I had a great few days last week on this server, it was like a return to the old days. Everyone knew each other, had a laugh and a good tough game. It was big fun, the way it's meant to be
But for the last few days it's been empty It's like a lot of others things, not so much fun on your own

It would be a great shame to loose the server, last week should have shown us that. So come on, we all need to be there for the best fun .

Being completely honest, the lack of diversity on maps here has driven both myself and Oi_Malloi away from both UKCS DoD, and the game itself;

We both tried very hard initially to get DoD#1 populated, however it never stayed that way for more than an hour or two; after a two weeks of doing that every day we gave up (starting from about 9:00 in the morning).

Nothing personal, but we got very sick of playing the same 4 maps repeatedly.

most of us have to work during the day m8 , a couple hours a night is the most some of can do we all would like more

Hes right about the maps in my opinion, but that's just me.

For me its the way Valve seem to have completely messed up the game laggy as hell, hit boxes appear to be randomly placed just a total mess tbh

Games been fine for everyone I know Si, what rates you using? try lowering interp see if it helps you out.

Of course you do; I wasn't aiming that at anyone in particular. I was more referencing the "pubber" game community that don't seem to stay on for too long. I appreciate that many of the UKCS DoD players have commitments outside of the game, and echoing statements that have been put forward when asking questions about map changes, etc: UKCS users account for a very low proportion of the total user base on the servers.

Right, Im going to try and get the server up and running if I can, 1 person on is better than none. Thanks TC for adding a few more maps, hopefully this will help.
