dod:s has its own mp3 player

Postby jp on Sun Oct 02, 2005 11:18 pm

Quite possibly, I'm the last to know about this, but seeing as I found it by accident and it's not in CS:S or HL2 I thought I'd share just in case.

Bring up the console, type mp3, press enter. You get a cool (90% finished?) GUI that lets you make playlists and play mp3s! Quite cool. Would be nice if Valve made this a feature of all Source games..

edit: some ppl this works fine but 4 others it doesn;t work at all but i really do think its a good feature rushing on dod_flash with war what is it good 4 going on in the background is a gr8 experince

i wonder what impact this has on fps etc. as this is ingame rather than external so the game has to use more of its resources

Good find JP.

FB I would imagine that low end machines would be effected a little bit, where as the mid/high end CPU can handle this quite well.

Audio MP3 is quite low on bandwidth usage compared to gfx.
