Hey im making this map and im about 2/3 done. Its called stalingrad and is based on MOHAA's stalingrad map (first MP map I ever played). It re-made from scratch and should be a bit better. Will work on 32 player fine and will work on 64 but may be a bit tight.

Ive done a LOAD of work to day and have had some pritty hary problems.
here are more screenies of the map so far, i need to add objects/windows/decals/lights/skybox then it should be complete.

Looks great, let us know when its done so we can do a play test. We'll co-ordinate with you so you can be present.

Remember to release it first as a _b1 in case there are changes that need to be done.

Was this map released by Valve before? If so, you must avoid using the same name as they may release it at a later time and it will cause lots of problems having the same name as yours. If so, call it dod_stalingrad2 or something to protect it in the future.

No your infomation is really useful, stalingrad wasnt made by valve, it was initial en EA game for Medal Of Honor Allied Assault and was the first multiplayer map i EVER played like 6 years ago. wI want to pay homage to it so i re-made it, I just hope it will work with lots of players.
How will the tests work? Will it be like public players trying it out or what?

The test will be just like if you went on to the server now and it was playing. The reaction of the players on at that time will determine wether the map is added on to the cycle. TC will probably do a vote asking if the players think it should be added or not.

Like TC said also you will be there for the test.

Cool but will that give me time/help with comments to change my map because if it needs changing will I get the second chance?

People that play it will come here if they are registered and will comment about it here, they are very helpful in what they say and will guide you on how to go about improving your map if anything does need improving.

Lol this thread is like a diary for stalingrad, anyway I have just about finished the brushes (walls) and now am going to procead onto the nitty gritty like objects lighting and stuff.

I've put it on the test server. The map is 70 megs, but i've compressed it to 30 megs and made it available for high speed in game download.


You will need to recruit your own players as currently were running an extended kalt on the main server.
