ooo dammm did i miss the map test then. glad this maps on the server as out of all the custom maps i've tried this one has been the best so far

Last night Omaha had a nazi in almost every allied spawnboat, sometimes 2 in a spawnboat, most allied barely lived more than half a second before being shot in the back........... this map can be great fun, or if the germans decide to play like tards, it can be the worst map ever.

Do we have an official stance towards spawncamping on the DoD server ?
Omaha is really nasty in regards to that, at first the Germans have easy acces to spawncamping, later the allied reach the spawnchambers of the Germans, but since it is a beach map, spawncamping in some form or the other will always occur.
Its quite disheartening to see 8 Germans camping the back of the boats, and non of them are going for the beach flag, or 5 allied sitting in a German spawnroom, while the flag outside the bunker is still German.
Offcause you need to kill the Allied on the beach, but from the front, and you need to supress the spawnroom while capping the German bunker flags, but you dont need to stay in that room after the flag is capped.

Right now, the map being new and all, half the players are screaming for kicks, and the other half is running for spawnspots, if we had an official stance, like >spawncamping is fine, find ways to deal with it< (like we did with the CSS box glitch), or >dont abuse spawncamping or you will be kicked<, then the map would be more enjoyable, since either way the policy is clear, so no need to whimper about it.

Agreed Poised, Omaha is a spawn camptastic map :)

We need to sort out |UKCS| stand point on this for DoD.

Has to be said though I think spawn camping is wrong (just cheap kills, no skill), and also if we get stats for DoD at some point people can rack up kills from spawncamping?

Anyways ill look into it :)

Yes as long as we take an official stance towards it, if spawningcamping is on, then we deal with it, if (persistent) spawncamping isnt allowed, then the players will catch on to that fast.
The easiest would however be to allow it, since that would require no monitoring at all, and as long as we know its on, then we WILL deal with it, you cannot cap flags on Omaha without "some" spawncamping, but getting rid of the lameness would be nice though :)

I saw a MOHAA server with a similar map that autoslapped ppl 10hp for remaining within 5 metres of a place for more than 10 seconds. It was a little too vicious though.

Im working on something to deal with spawn campers and in-game AFK'ers. Its different rules from CSS so i;m having to solve the problem in new ways.

Hopefully out tomorrow.
