Good mapping techniques and reference - steam forum thread

Postby Garner on Sun Sep 18, 2011 9:49 pm

I found this on the Steam forums and to be fair, it's a brilliant article on mapping techniques as well as a general guide and refresher :)

The guy made the payload cart for pl_hoodoo, and his website can be found: http://jeroendessaux.be/index.php

May help any aspiring mapper, or seasoned pro looking to gain a few tips :)

There actualy are far better guides on tf2maps themselve and alot more resources. The detailing one however is still a nice one to look at:
http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=974 - How valve does details
http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5952 - Valve maps (and custom maps that reached valve status) decompiled
http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=6535 - Or to see how not to make mistakes
http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=798 - Displacements

There are alot more but these are the ones i remember atm.
Now on the workshop!
