Updates to Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2:DM)
Fixed a server crash exploit caused by malformed network packets

Counter-Strike: Source
Updated De_Inferno
Community fixes

Team Fortress 2
Fixed the Amputator and the Crusader's Crossbow healing teammates that have the Equalizer as their active weapon
Updated the Red team skin for the Fists of Steel
God is a defect of the human genome.

Hi guys,


I´m having a problem...

I try to connect to the UKCS servers they say: "The server you are trying to connect to is runing an older version of the game..."

Is it possible to update the server?

We are 4 friends and anyone could connect any server :(

Added three new community maps:
Koth_Lakeside
PL_Frontier
PLR_Nightfall


Frontier's long overdue an official status. Nightfall I must say I don't understand why it was chosen. First I'm hearing of Lakeside though.

There's been an update without product news (at the moment), 260MB. Presumably source engine changes

Heh, no worries. The changes were undocumented :)

Interestingly the game is due on the 15th March, although I get zip when I search steam for Homefront. Some trailers which say 'not available in your region'.

Other changes were adding some hats to the MannCo store.

Apparently, the Steam version isn't available in the UK, but you can still buy it in shops (sans hat, of course).

Yeah, I'm gonna buy it for PS3 when it comes out, weird that you can't buy it on steam in the UK though...First time I've heard of this for any game :)

It's not a bad offer, at least compared to Rift. For 50 Euros you get the game, the hat, a helicopter for multiplayer and a copy of Metro2033.

Been two updates that haven't been documented here, So I shall post both in one post :)

Team Fortress 2 10th March 2011 wrote:Added The Shogun Pack items
Fixed the "Best Little Slaughterhouse in Texas" Engineer achievement not counting Wranger and Mini-Sentry kills
Updated several more models with optimizations and new LODs
Updated the Blighted Beak with a creator submitted fix

Team Fortress 2
Fixed a server crash caused by using the Half-Zatoichi to hit someone not holding a weapon.
Fixed the Soldier/Demoman taunts not working correctly when the Half-Zatoichi is the active weapon.
Fixed the Concheror animations not always playing correctly for players on the Blue team.
Fixed a bug where players could switch weapons after deploying the Half-Zatoichi before they killed someone with it.
Updated The Shogun Pack items to be tradeable.
Crafting changes
All recipes are now known to all players.
Reduced the cost of most recipes.
Items previously crafted using recipes that will be reduced in this update have been upgraded to Vintage quality.


So, anyone got some new (hopefully) rare Vintage stuff?

I now have a Vintage Caber, Vintage Brass Beast, and Vintage Steak (probably tastes rotten though!).

Only Vintage Sun-on-a-stick :(

But nice way of punishing players that wait patiently for drops or prefers to buy stuff that they lack :D (Sure not everyone care but those who want to get all their items will :) )

The update means that there are now normal Rift weapons, vintage Rift weapons, and genuine Rift weapons.

well, i paid for the polycount stuff the day the 2nd update with the medic pack came out etc, once i knew that my contribution would go to the creative minds of those who actually came up with this stuff - which I supported 100%.

But how is it fair to 'punish' people like me who are actually supporting the modellers and Valve? I now get kicked in the teeth by having non-vintage, untradeable items when I couldve been rewarded for crafting the items instead which now have a higher value and tradeable status? madness. I dont want special treatment for buying the items, I just want equality. get it right, Valve.
