How did you come across the UKCS TF2 Servers?

Also there is not much cursing and hate on the chat or voicechat in the server. If there is any of that an admin is around to straight things out

i was looking for a good global tf2 server in-game. ukcs was one of my first try and i like it so much.
when i surfed on its web page, i said myself it is the right server to play.

I don't remember where I first heard about them because although I only play TF2 these days I used to be a keen Day of Defeat player. I spotted the tag when I started playing TF2 and seemed to remember it being a friendly sort of place from my DoD days.

It was when I was first looking on the team fortress server list, for a nice place to regularly come back to.
Went back to the server for a couple more days, got invited to the steam group and discovered the other 7 servers.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

I remember playing on UKCS back in the days where I was a fervent CS 1.6 player. Then I kinda stoppd playing 1.6 for I dont remember what reason but I came back once I discovered the joys of TF2
However, I don't remember how I got on UKCS back in my 1.6 days. I think I followed a mate and just enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. This was YEARS ago though.
I only registered on the forums when playing TF2.

Basically the reason why I'm here as well. The community here reminds me alot of the gaming community in South Africa, everyone is very close, and polite to one another
because they know if they cause crap, there's going to be trouble because you play against the same people almost all the time
Most clans know each other very well, especially all the clan leader's. They are all connected in some way. Make's the gaming have a good atmosphere

I actually searched UK tf2 forums on google in my search for a good connection.

I just registered on fragradio, which i found by playing tf2, i had doubts joining here since it seems to me that only British kind of fellows are allowed to hang out.

I was looking in the Europe servers for TF2 and dustbowl in Steam servers, basically looking for a nice local uk server with a low ping. I saw the UKCS Dustbowl 1 server and have been addicted ever since.

I was told the community there was nice by a friend who kept trying to get me here, and so I tried the servers there and eventually came to play here more and more often, and less and less on the servers I used to which were from some other big community and where I always was somewhat uncomfortable, while people were friendlier on ukcs servers, so hey, why not stay
