I would just like to point out, that NVIDIA users should update their GPU drivers to the latest version.
Why? Because it makes the mat_queue_mode 2 command actually work. I have tested and went ~30min without a crash.
The only crash I experienced was when I alt-tabbed to Windows.
The average FPS increase should be somewhere around 20%-30%.
I tested this with my 9600GT, using the latest driver, version 182.06.
I would really like, that you, ATI users try this command with the latest driver and report if it crashes. I would also like that NVIDIA users, using different GPUs than mine try the command and report possible crashes.

For those of you, who don't know what mat_queue_mode 2 does; it makes TF2 run on multiple cores, increasing FPS.

This DOES NOT WORK STILL.

A crash is a crash, even under specific circumstances. Just hold out till Tuesday when the supposed update to release the non-buggy mat_queue 2 mode is out :)

Using your logic, TF2 doesn't work, since it crashes under specific circumstances. At least with the new drivers it works as long as you stay in the game.

Lol Ray I think you've taken his comments a bit out of context. With the new update due Tuesday there will also be a fix for Dual Core support within that.

Whilst this one may work it wont work in all cases. The Valve official release should work in all cases.

What Kev said. Also, if a games crash can be attributed to a specific setting that you know has just been activated, then it does not work.

meh, bugs happen, fix one, ten come up :P

Did you know that you can still burn ppl at the start of the round on dustbowl and goldrush with pyro? Just have to play the angles and the enemy has to be close :P

yea on a few other maps too, would be easier to just not allow killing before the round starts (although that'll make one of the scouts achievements rather hard :P)

yup. gate exploiting (any class) is against the rules and is punishable by a light toasting of our own doing.

thats not too serious, it was worse when you could burn through the wooden walls of the 1st CP. made killing a sentry really easy!

i wont be trying this command, i'll wait for proper release.

OT: I tried the command earlier, I didn't crash but performance suffered. As already said, I'll wait for the patch.

the update has been released, but I didn't see anywhere the mention of fix/whatever for multi-core cpus.

Any more ideas anyone?
