Curve is a payload map with a slight twist. It has one extra control point compared to basic Valve maps which makes it have longer track. There are also couple of obstacles on the track that are moving away once the cart is pushed near them. Plays just like normal payload map!

I did this map in 4 months and spent next 6-7 months tuning it up untill this day, 12th of January 2013 came and the final version, pl_curve, is now officially out of the box!

If you run older version, i recommend you update to the newest.

You should also look the map, not just screens. :)

If this gets tested, could someone notify me date and time so i can come in and hear comments live? As this is still work in progress, it's not ready so these things among looking how people play it are extremely usefull.

Yes it looks ready but especially D-E area plays differently every time. I'm still not sure if it's too easy or too hard. Also B-C seems to go pretty fast if players just push the cart and too much time is awarded on each cap. Atleast it looks that way but thats why further tests are needed.

played this last night in the map test. i must say its excellent, nice job.
runs very smooth (i have an old pc) and is well balanced for both attack and defend.

gets my vote for a permanent stay on the servers <3

Thanks for letting me know and thank you also for the compliments. The end needs a little tune up, otherwise i'm quite happy with the map.

My goal was to make a decent payload that isn't resource heavy. Framerate has always been important to me too. I also have old pc. ;-)

Apparently now that this map has been on UKCS #8 six times and #2 one time (Yes i'm a stalker), i'd like to hear about what might be done to improve it. I'm still open to suggestions, especially in the last pit area and area between B and C points. Is that too hard to defend? On the last pit, it seems like it's too easy to win as BLU but when people learn the map, it's too easy to win as RED (aka not deliver payload as BLU). Thoughts? Thanks.

New version out! pl_curve_rc5. Fixes and changes are listed in TF2maps thread (link is in the 1st post). Luckily one of the admins at UKCS gave me feedback on this map but i'm dissapointed that no one else posted in this thread anything about it. I guess times for forums are over.

i was going to comment on it when i'd played it a bit more. just i never seem to be on when it is :( its a pity though, as i think its the most polished map that got added to the rotation.

If only UKCS would run latest version of this map. Kind of frustrating to see new players playing older versions and get bad first impression.
