Correct me if I am wrong but its held 3 times a year. the next two are:

Insomnia 46 (i46) - 24th to 27th August 2012
Insomnia 45 (i45) - 4th to 7th May 2012

the competition is for i46 i.e. august 2012 event.

there free parking at the site (woohoo).

I myself am just one hours drive away, I can go but it will probably be a saturday and a spectator badger for the day so I can drive down and back later on. Main reason for me going would be to meet some of the ukcs people in real life, so I know who I am headshotting *grins*

I assume as a spectator I will still have to pay the £11 fee to get in the ukcs box(s)? drop me a PM if you can hold my hand for the day and ill be there, as it will be my first time and my orientation in-game is better then out of game .

Hey Renegade,

The summer iseries events tend to be the biggest of the LANs multiplay run through the year, it lends itself to summer holidays etc, hence why we are making a big push for then rather than the smaller i45 in May

If you have a spec badge then you will be able to come into the box and say hi to us all. The cost applies to BYOC tickets because they will be taking up a computer space, but if you are just nosey-ing around then by all means come and say hi!

Yes the £11 only applies to people with full BYOC tickets that want to sit in the box with their machine etc.

Visitors don't need to pay the £11, but obviously wont get a desk/chair in the box.

Your more than welcome to come in and say hi and buy some drinks though

Bear in mind that tickets will be more expensive after i45, renegade.

I would recommend just jumping in for i46 too- it will be a much bigger event and we already have 36 UKCS members joining us there!

The challenge will be to make both boxes as a single entity of fun time UKCS style!
But tbh. there so many LAN vets around this should be easy to do.

From my third world country its like 2-250 euros flights, 80 eur hotel (share with your mates, cut costs), 80 ish in ticket+early bird costs i think it was, then food and drink for the event, food is cheap as hell, there is a supermarket chain Asda just round the corner, where you can buy SUPER cheap nice food from, and the drink is the only expensive thing, but we bought crates and shared last time, worked out alright.

Like 6-700 euros total?

Edit: I only just read that, me coming from the Netherlands (AKA the flight was cheaper) I still do not dare to calculate what that LAN costed me but it's over what you just said.
As for the cheap nice food, well I guess I am not used to the English food as generally I wouldn't class it as nice.

We're looking into merchandise like that but it's not 100% certain we'll get anything for i46 due to costs involved (money has to come from somewhere!).
